Celebrating Three Decades of SPC

Perfectly packaged with immense gratitude

A lot has happened in 30 years! It’s been long enough to go from AOL dial-up internet to AI, from clunky phone books to smartphones, and from a little family-owned copy shop to a nationally recognized packaging company. We’re sure thankful for the ups, downs, and sometimes sideways journey. We’ve taken risks, reinvented ourselves, survived some tough times, invested big, celebrated bigger, and proven time and again that we have the greatest team on the planet. So, let’s rewind the mixed tape and take a look at the three decades that made SPC what it is today.

1996-2006 – Trading Faxes for Pizza

Back in the days when the internet made screeching noises, fax machines were cutting-edge, and the sound of “You’ve Got Mail!” gave us all a happy thrill, SPC was just a small, family-owned copy shop with big ambitions. We even traded fax services for pizza – proof that bartering was still alive and well in the ’90s. One move, one acquisition, and countless handshakes later, we had grown into a commercial printer. We may have started small, but the foundation for something much bigger was already taking shape.

1996: Opened doors

1998-2003: Moved three times and kept upgrading business

2006: Installed 40 inch press and half size UV press

2006-2016 – Burn the Ships!

While the world was busy downloading apps, scrolling on social media, and asking “what’s next?”, SPC was asking the same question – and there wasn’t an app for that. The commercial printing industry was facing a downturn as digital communication and the Great Recession challenged traditional print like never before. We faced some of our toughest years – but standing still was never our style. In 2012, we made the bold decision to invest in folding carton packaging. We often talked about sailing to “Packaging Island” and burning the ships, fully committing to a new future with no turning back. It wasn’t easy, but those courageous decisions transformed survival mode into opportunity and laid the groundwork for everything that followed. It wasn’t the easiest decade, but it was the one that proved we weren’t afraid to reinvent ourselves and actively create what came next.

2016-2026 – In Our Low-Key Legendary Era

At a time when the world was all about going viral and perfecting the art of the unboxing experience on TikTok – something we personally couldn’t get enough of – a bit of bad luck helped us shift to a 100% folding carton packaging company – just in time for a rapidly changing post-COVID world. We invested more than $12 million in cutting-edge equipment, expanded our footprint, and committed to sustainable, paper-based packaging and responsible manufacturing practices. In 2025 alone, we recycled almost 2 million pounds of waste materials, saving 14,650 trees and over 50,000 pounds of pollutants! Perhaps our proudest achievements, though, were watching more than 30 team members walk across the stage together, with the biggest smiles on their faces, to accept the Florida Package of the Year award last year and, most recently, receiving the coveted 2026 Best in Show Award at the national FSEA competition – honors that reflect the passion of our entire team. Today, we focus on brand storytelling, pushing the limits of creativity and design, going greener, and proving that the best things really do come in great packages.
